Wobbling Ceiling Fan
A wobbling fan is almost always a blade balance issue, not a wiring or motor problem. Blades warp slightly over time in Texas heat and humidity. One blade sitting even a few millimeters out of plane causes the wobble that keeps you up at night. We balance the blades using balancing weights, check the blade brackets for bent arms, and confirm the mounting bracket is secure in the ceiling box. Most wobble repairs take under 30 minutes.
Noisy Ceiling Fan
Grinding noise is usually a worn bearing in the motor housing. Clicking is usually a loose blade screw or a blade arm that has worked loose from the motor housing. Humming from the light kit is often a dimmer switch that is not compatible with the fan — ceiling fans require a fan-rated speed control, not a standard light dimmer. We identify the noise source and fix the specific cause.
Fan Not Spinning
Motor capacitor failure is the most common cause of a fan that hums but does not spin. The capacitor starts the motor and keeps it running — when it fails, the motor receives power but cannot turn. Capacitor replacement is a straightforward repair that costs significantly less than a full fan replacement. We test the capacitor on the first visit and replace it if that is the cause.
Remote or Wall Control Not Working
Ceiling fan remotes use a receiver installed inside the fan housing that can fail independently of the motor. We replace the receiver and pair a new remote without replacing the entire fan. If the wall control stopped working, we check whether the issue is the control itself, the wiring connection, or the receiver inside the fan.
Fan Completely Dead — No Power
A ceiling fan with no power at all is usually a tripped breaker, a failed GFCI on the circuit, or a wiring connection that has come loose inside the canopy or at the wall switch. We trace the circuit, find the break, and restore power. If the fan motor itself has failed and the fan is older, we give you the honest comparison between repair cost and replacement cost before proceeding.
